Low Scape Hedger® is a dwarf cultivar of Aronia melanocarpa, also known as chokeberry, which is noted for its short, columnar growth habit and eye-catching fall colors. Growing to a height of between three and five feet, Aronia melanocarpa Low Scape Hedger® is the midway point in height between the straight species Aronia melanocarpa (up to six feet tall) and Aronia melanocarpa Low Scape Mound® (growing to 18-24").

Blooming in mid spring, Low Scape Hedger® produces small white flowers that eventually turn to rounded black berries, which are especially attractive to birds. This cultivar's lower profile, combined with tolerance of salt, drought, and wet conditions plus other great features of a classic chokeberry, make it an excellent addition to smaller garden spaces, including border and foundation plantings as well as wider ecological uses.
